Frugal's tasting notes: "Dark garnet color. Toasted nose, with hints of black fruits, prunes, raspberries and licorice. Well-balanced, fine and ripe tannins leaving a lingering finish." Wine Spectator rating is 88 points. Spectator notes: "Plum and black licorice aromas follow through to a full body, with silky tannins and a tar, berry and currant aftertaste. A little loose-knit, but nicely done."

Chateau Paradis Casseuil Entre Deux Mers 2007 19.99/750 ml.
This is a wine by Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite). The blend is 65% Merlot, 34% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Cabernet Franc. Frugal's tasting notes: "Intense ruby red color. Red fruit, blackberry and blueberries on the nose. Forward fruit on the palate, pleasant and smooth. The finish is rich in polyphenol and has a persistent finish." Winery notes: "Chateau Paradis Casseuil wines are characterized by fresh, fruity flavors and floral aromas."

Tasting notes: "Dense garnet color and aromas of black cherry and cassis on the nose. Still pretty young but with a good structure on the palate and a fruity finish."

A blend of Petite Sirah (49%), Zinfandel (49%) and Mourvedre (2%). Winery notes: "Three distinctive varietals combine lush berry and fierce spice into a wine characterized by its incandescence. Deeply luscious and succulent blackberries ignite this vintage of our rich ruby apparition. Aromas of anise and sweet fig are embraced by touches of black pepper.
