Chateau D'Arcins Haut-Medoc 2005 26.99/750 ml.
Frugal's tasting notes: "Dark garnet color. Toasted nose, with hints of black fruits, prunes, raspberries and licorice. Well-balanced, fine and ripe tannins leaving a lingering finish." Wine Spectator rating is 88 points. Spectator notes: "Plum and black licorice aromas follow through to a full body, with silky tannins and a tar, berry and currant aftertaste. A little loose-knit, but nicely done."

Chateau Paradis Casseuil Entre Deux Mers 2007 19.99/750 ml.
This is a wine by Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite). The blend is 65% Merlot, 34% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Cabernet Franc. Frugal's tasting notes: "Intense ruby red color. Red fruit, blackberry and blueberries on the nose. Forward fruit on the palate, pleasant and smooth. The finish is rich in polyphenol and has a persistent finish." Winery notes: "Chateau Paradis Casseuil wines are characterized by fresh, fruity flavors and floral aromas."

Chateau de Clotte Cotes de Castillon 2005 16.99/750 ml.
Tasting notes: "Dense garnet color and aromas of black cherry and cassis on the nose. Still pretty young but with a good structure on the palate and a fruity finish."

Chateau Greysac Medoc 2005 12.90/750 ml.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate rates this wine 86-88 points, saying this is the best vintage since 1982.

Penfolds Bin 28 Kalimna Shiraz 2005 17.99/750 ml.
"Firm in texture, with a peppery edge to the spicy blueberry and currant flavors, the fruit poking through a layer of chewy tannins on the long, expressive finish. Best after 2009." Wine Spectator rating 88 points. We opened a bottle recently and found big and bold laced with berry zest this juice is ready to go. Listed at a suggested retail of $25, try and beat our price.

Monte Antico Toscana 2006 11.99/750 ml.
"Bright plum, dried cherry and flowers on the nose. Full-bodied, with fine tannins and refined berry and cherry flavors." Wine Spectator rating 90 points.

Bogle Phantom Proprietary Red Blend 2006 18.99/750 ml.
A blend of Petite Sirah (49%), Zinfandel (49%) and Mourvedre (2%). Winery notes: "Three distinctive varietals combine lush berry and fierce spice into a wine characterized by its incandescence. Deeply luscious and succulent blackberries ignite this vintage of our rich ruby apparition. Aromas of anise and sweet fig are embraced by touches of black pepper. From the shadowed dark depths, subtle notes of cloves and vanilla emerge and compliment the concentrated fruit characters of this wine. Captured in 1, 2 and 3 year old American oak barrels, this wine showcases the best these distinct varietals have to offer."

Mollydooker The Boxer Shiraz 2008 27.99/750 ml.
The 2008 Mollydooker lineup is now in stock, but The Boxer usually sells out first. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate ratings are consistently high on all the Mollydooker wines, but especially on The Boxer. Over the past 3 years, the average rating is 94 points! (We haven't seen the rating on the 2008 yet.) At 16% alcohol, this is a powerful wine, with a rich body and flavor to match. "Dense and rich on the palate, it has layers of succulent fruit, lots of spice, and a lengthy finish." The wine is elegant and rich in texture, with soft, round tannins and a long velvety finish. Gasc—n Malbec pairs well with grilled red meats, wild game, pasta dishes and chocolate molten dessert."

This blend is a deep inky purple color with a nose of berry and mocha. The flavors nicely blend creamy vanilla and crushed berry. Compare at $7 or more a bottle.

Silvertop Malbec is back in stock. Silvertop is a Frugal's exclusive in the Charlotte/Carolinas area. Winery notes: "Color: Dark, rich, extracted. Nose: Bright nose of black fruit, spices, and herbs. Palate: Layers of blackberries and blueberries, wild plums, and hints of mocha and spice. Food Pairings: Pairs well with rich, spicy meat dishes, grilled meats and vegetables, stews, pasta and mature cheeses."

Château Potelle Zinie de Potelle 11.99/375 ml.
This is a late harvest Zinfandel. Sweet, but with a lot of vigor, strength and character. A delicious sweet cherry and wild berry fruit with chocolate undertones and underlying hints of nutmeg and cinnamon. This wine has wonderful, deep aromas and is very smooth and elegant in the mouth. . A Port-style wine fermented and aged 18 months in French oak.

Terrazas de los Andes Reserve Malbec 2006 15.99/750 ml.
"Quite juicy, with raspberry, cassis and briar notes riding over fresh acidity through a bouncy dark fruit- and spice-filled finish. Drink now through 2010." Wine Spectator 89 points.

Rosenblum Cellars Zinfandel Cuvee XXX 11.99/750 ml.
This good value Zin is another fine blend from a winery that call themselves the "mecca for zinfanatics." It is fruit forward with blackberry and plum, just after the fruit explodes a slight spicy oak finishes out.

Iron Horse T-T Vineyards Bdx-3 2004 29.99/750 ml.
This is a luscious blend of Cabernet, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. It is regal in color - a nearly black, purple beauty. The first smell recalls dark berries, figs, ripe pears, cedar, vanilla, black pepper and dark toasted oak. These deep fruit flavors generously fill and coat the mouth. It is both juicy and mouthwatering. The tannins are smooth, balanced and silky.

This Icewine won a Gold Medal at VinExpo. Its intense flavours of tropical fruit, combined with hints of spice and Cabernet, create a taste sensation that is both elegant on the nose and aggressive on the palate. Great with some chocolate.
